Downstate Installs New Leaders

Garden City, NY – The Downstate Insurance Associations Council recently installed new officers to serve on its board of directors during the 2008-2009 term. Approximately 100 members and guests attended the September 22 event, which took place at the Garden City Country Club. Joseph Tunkel, Past President of Downstate performed the installation ceremony.

Downstate, now 78 years old, represents approximately 492 agencies and brokerages, as well as 538 individual members. The council “provides a forum for discussion of insurance industry and related subjects and for dissemination of this information to agents and brokers”.
